This c. 1960s lamp base has been attributed to well-known Italian ceramicist Alvino Bagni, which was often imported to North America by Raymor. The embossed circles on the base show similarities to his ‘sea garden’ series, but this glaze lacks the teal and green combination typical of that collection. Instead, the earthy browns, creams, and chartreuse suggest a garden in early spring; the first shoots emerging from soil still dark with the remnants of winter in its memory.
We’re not sure if this shade is truly original, but it appears to be of the same era, and it was with the lamp when we acquired it.
Original wiring is intact and should be inspected by an electrician to verify its safety.
